Speos Adopts ShoreTel's IP Telephony to Achieve Increased Flexibility, Business Continuity and Cost Savings

SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 9, 2009 – ShoreTel® (NASDAQ; SHOR), the leading provider of brilliantly simple IP phone systems with fully integrated Unified Communications, today announced that Speos, the Belgian market leader in document outsourcing, has purchased a ShoreTel UC system to help improve market responsiveness, ensure business continuity, boost productivity and provide a reliable platform for growth. Speos also has achieved significant cost savings through reduced call costs between the company's two sites in Anderlecht and Merchtem.

After reaching maximum capacity with its previous analog telephone system, Speos decided to migrate to IP telephony to take advantage of the latest advanced communications features. After running a one-month pilot with ShorePhone® IP 565g telephones, Speos chose to implement ShoreTel's UC system because it aligned with Speos' network requirements, clearly demonstrating improved flexibility and simplified system management.

"The whole ShoreTel UC system cost Speos roughly the same as an upgrade to the previous incumbent solution, but offered significantly more in terms of management simplicity and total cost of ownership," said Fabrice Vlassembrouck, management information systems manager at Speos. Calls are efficiently routed to employees regardless of location, supporting the company's goal to create flexible working spaces. Integration with Microsoft Outlook enables Speos employees to manage all of their communications through their PCs, benefiting from productivity-enhancing features, such as voicemail messages as .wav files in their e-mail inboxes and easy access to online directories.

The ShoreTel solution also helps ensure business continuity—essential for this deadline-driven, customer service environment. ShoreGear® Voice Switches are installed at both Speos office locations and are configured to back each other up, helping to ensure 99.999 percent (five-nines) uptime of the ShoreTel UC system. Also, Speos has increased productivity by ensuring that calls always are diverted to the appropriate people.

Internal calls between Speos' sites in Anderlecht and Merchtem are routed over the existing data network, resulting in significant cost savings. The company is also planning to integrate other ShoreTel products into its extensible platform which now easily meets future communications requirements.
